FOCAL was built by Bryan Jackson, an operator, not a marketer. At EnergyAid he built the operations and maintenance service line inside a company that reached #6 on the 2025 Inc. 5000, the fastest-growing construction company in America.
He started FOCAL because of what he watched happen around him: founders with good businesses getting outspent by PE-backed platforms in their own zip codes, then getting letters from the same money offering to buy them cheap.
FOCAL isn't against private equity. It's for the founder. The platforms' advantage is tooling and discipline, and both can be installed in a company you keep 100% of. Whether you want to outrun the roll-ups or hand them an invoice they can't argue with, the work is the same.
